Midtown Miami: Developer Jack Cayre’s Plea to Area Owners, “Don’t Sell Out”

In the wake of HSBC Bank USA’s acquisition of hundreds of units in the Midtown towers, Open Media Miami talked to Jack Cayre, principal of the New York-based Midtown Equities, the developer of Midtown Miami. Cayre agrees with the local real estate experts we talked to that Midtown continues to be in strong position.
We asked Cayre about any implications the deal may have on the neighborhood. He reiterated what he has said in past articles: that the owner of the condos has turned them back to the bank due to problems with other investments and that the deal did not reflect on the financial status of Midtown properties in general. Cayre said he has a few plans in the works for Midtown, including a project for the undeveloped 15 acres on the edge of Midtown that may be announced soon.
While Cayrne has good reason to be confidence about Midtown, Open Media Miami asked him what he worries about. We’ll publish the full interview later this week, but this response proved to be his most interesting:
